Amanda Simon – Research Advisor
Amanda Simon graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in both Neuroscience and Japanese Culture, and has over three years of laboratory experience. At Dartmouth, she conducted her research on the reward circuit of the brain as it pertains to addiction. She is currently working as a Research Technician in the Pharmacology department at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she maintains the lab’s mouse colony and conducts experiments under the direction of the principal investigators. Amanda plans to pursue a Ph.D in Neuroscience in the future. She is the Co-founder of IlluminXation, and will use her experience as a first-generation college graduate as a means to encourage and counsel students pursuing higher education, especially as it pertains to studying the sciences.
